Cloning PCB Board is also called printed circuit board copying. It is a reverse engineering research on the designed PCB board physical sample.
Currently, the whole new definition against this technical solution has been categorized from two perspectives, as for narrow sense, Cloning PCB Board refers only to the extraction of PCB documentations which includes PCB Layout drawings, Gerber file, List of component (BOM) and Schematic diagram, and then use these documentations to re-manufacture the PCB Board;
From a broad sense, it is not only including technical processes such as extraction of circuit board documentations and cloning the original circuit boards which will provide the exact same functions as original version, but also includes the modification of circuit board layout drawings by the courtesy of schematic diagram as well as the appearance of electronic products.
3D data extraction through product plastic or metal model scanning and reverse engineering, procuring or replacing various types of electronic components on the PCB board, crack encrypted microcontrollers which include CPLD, AVR, ARM & FPGA on circuit boards, and disassemble the firmware on these micro-controllers to re-edit the functionality of it.
The process of compiling a full set of technical drawings and data on the target PCB Board will be viewed as PCB Board Cloning.
